Who is a Thread Lift Suitable For? And How to Prepare?

Kazumi Clinic Team

For those with flat noses or undefined nose shapes, a nose thread lift is a method to help adjust the nose shape to be taller and look naturally defined, without silicone implant surgery.

What is a Nose Thread Lift?

A nose thread lift is a procedure to adjust the shape of the nose by inserting dissolvable threads (usually PDO or PCL threads) into the nasal bridge and nose tip. The threads act as a supportive structure, helping to lift and define the nasal bridge, and can lift the nose tip to be upturned or have a teardrop shape.

How is a Nose Thread Lift Different from Silicone Implants and Dermal Fillers?

1. Compared to Silicone Implants: A thread lift does not require surgery, leaves no scars, requires no long recovery time, and has no risk of silicone extrusion (the results of a thread lift look more natural and are not as prominently high as silicone). 2. Compared to Nose Dermal Fillers: A thread lift is much safer, as nose dermal fillers carry a high risk of vascular occlusion and blindness. In contrast, threads do not migrate or spread sideways over time (the nose does not widen over time like fillers), making the nasal bridge sharper.

Who is a Nose Thread Lift Suitable For?

  • People who have some existing nose bridge but whose nasal bridge is not sharp, or whose nose tip is drooping.
  • People with a hump (Hump) or prominent nose bone; a thread lift will help adjust the nasal bridge line to look straight and smooth.
  • People who are afraid of surgery, afraid of silicone extrusion, or have no recovery time.
  • People who want their face to look more defined but still maintain naturalness, so that it cannot be felt when touched.

Nose Thread Lift Technique at Kazumi Clinic

At Kazumi Clinic, doctors use special threads designed specifically for the nose (Nose Cog), which are thick and strong enough to build a stable new nasal axis.

  • The doctor will inject local anesthetic at the tip of the nose (the single entry point for the threads).
  • Insert threads along the nasal bridge to increase height.
  • And insert threads at the nasal axis (Columella) to elevate and upturn the nose tip.

Post-Care After a Nose Thread Lift

  • There may be minor swelling along the nasal bridge and needle marks at the tip of the nose, which will disappear within 3-7 days.
  • Avoid touching, squeezing, or picking the nose forcefully during the first 1-2 weeks so that the threads can integrate well with the tissue.
  • Avoid wearing heavy glasses that press on the nasal bridge during the initial period.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is a nose thread lift painful? A: It will only hurt during the first local anesthetic injection at the tip of the nose. After the anesthetic takes effect, you will not feel any pain. Q: How many threads are needed for a beautiful result? A: It depends on the patient's existing nose base and requirements. Generally, 4-8 threads are used for the nasal bridge and 2-4 threads for the nose tip. The doctor will always perform an assessment prior to the procedure.

Medical Disclaimer: Results may vary from person to person and must always be assessed by a doctor prior to treatment.
